People have been hanging “It’s Okay To Be White” posters all over college and high school campuses.
It’s unclear whether they started to do this to promote the left ideal of “be comfortable in your own skin” (even though that doesn’t fit the liberal movement – it’s not okay to be white, fit, intelligent, or good looking).
The idea also might have been to just see how triggered the left could get over a couple pieces of paper promoting equality for all. They supposedly fight for equality, tolerance, and to be accepted, but don’t treat white people equally, with tolerance, or accepting.
The media is saying that this is a “white nationalist” movement. It’s not.
There has since been an overwhelming amount of tweets saying “why are there posters on my campus saying it’s okay to be white? it’s not”.
I tweeted in response, “It’s okay to be white. It’s okay to be heterosexual. It’s okay to be a Trump supporter. It’s okay to not support criminals. It’s okay.” It has received over 250+ retweets and over 620+ likes. Someone decided to correct me, saying, “It’s not okay to be white and ignore injustice”. I believe the same goes for any race – black people, hispanic people, white people, asian people, etc.
How is it NOT OKAY to be white? They would celebrate a sign saying “The best people are black” but would call for the murder of white people in the name of white supremacy over a sign that said “The best people are white”. BESIDES, these signs merely suggested that “It’s okay to be white”, and look at the reaction.
Martin Luther King, Jr. once famously said, “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” What are minorities doing instead? Judging SOLELY on the color of our skin. The exact opposite of a prominent African-American leader wanted for them.
So, who’s really racist? Why do these signs upset minorities so much? Why is one high school launching a police investigation over this when it’s not illegal? Who’s actually behaving like Nazis when you’re trying to shut down the free speech and expression of others?
How would they react if white people responded to signs saying “It’s okay to be black” by saying “it’s not okay to be black why are these signs up on my campus?” The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
